Data Deletion
How to have your data removed from Saluto — whether you messaged a business that uses us, or you are the business.
If you messaged a business that uses Saluto
The business you contacted controls that conversation. Saluto stores and processes it on their behalf. Ask them to delete it — they can remove the conversation from their inbox, which deletes the messages and any images, documents or files you sent.
If you cannot reach them, email privacy@salutodesk.com and tell us which channel you used (WhatsApp, Instagram, email or website chat) and the name of the business. We will locate the conversation, delete it, and confirm when it is done.
If you are a business using Saluto
Deleting your business account removes every conversation, customer record, attachment and stored channel credential belonging to it. You can do this from the dashboard, or by emailing us.
Disconnecting a single channel — WhatsApp, Instagram, email or the website widget — erases that channel’s stored credentials immediately, without affecting the rest of your account.
Removing Saluto’s access to your Meta accounts
If you connected Instagram or WhatsApp, you can revoke our access directly from Meta at any time, independently of anything you do in Saluto:
Facebook → Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations → select Saluto → Remove.
Revoking access stops us receiving any further messages. It does not delete conversations already stored — use one of the routes above for that.
What happens, and when
Deletion removes the data from our live database and from file storage. Encrypted backups are rotated on a schedule, so residual copies expire within 30 days. We do not retain a shadow copy after that.
We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
